10-12 Year Olds

 WORD Camps are the best part of school holidays! We have a variety of different camps during the holidays. Each camp we will ride, learn and giggle...heaps! Camps are open to kids of all MTB skill abilities. We split into groups, so we can ride with mates of similar radness.

April Holidays, 2025

Bookings Opening 4 March, 8pm!

Know your Local!

This is a 2 day camp. Each day we’ll explore the trail network in the area, learn some skills, have snacks and heaps of fun! We will split into smaller groups on the first morning based on abilities/fitness/interests and then head up on the trails! Parents will drop off and pick up at the following locations.

Let’s Get Technical

11-14 year-olds

Intermediate and Strong intermediate riders this one is for you!

If you want to get into more technical riding on Grade 4+ trails this is for you! We may also tackle some Grade 5 if conditons are good! Like Know your Local, but a little spicier. Given that we have the whole day, we will have plenty of time to scope out lines and session the trickier sections to get comfortable with roots and rocks!

*To really enjoy this camp should be comfortable riding up to the summit of Makara Peak.

  • 16-17 April (8:30-3pm)

Cost: $215 for the 2 day camp and includes:

Shuttle Day

10-13 year-olds

Let’s get some sweet shuttle laps! Let’s jump into Vinnie the WORD van to head off to different trails around town!

***To really make the most out of this camp, riders will want to be comfortable riding at least Grade 3 trails such as Hippies, Car Parts, Ikigai, Jailbrake, Te Tuara pt.2 and the likes.

Drop off (8:20am) and Pick up (3pm) your kiddo in front of Amora Hotel Wakefield Street each day. Vinnie the WORD Van will be driving us to each riding locations, departing at 8:30am!

  • 24 April (8:30-3pm)

Shuttles at Miramar, Mt Victoria, Waimapihi/Polhill

Cost: $150 for the 2 day camp and includes:
– Experienced and super fun WORD mountain bike instructor
– WORD t-shirt and WORD sticker

-Transport to the trails!


New to WORD camps!

Welcome to WORD! These camps are perfect if you’re new to mountain biking… we’ll spend time getting to know each other, learning some sweet skills, and exploring the trails. Riders will need to know how to ride a bike (including getting on and off their bike on their own) to really enjoy this camp. No off road experience necessary, that’s what we’re here for! Parents will drop off and pick up at the following locations.

The New to WORD camps are a set of two half-day camps running from 12:30pm-3.30pm. Please check the locations for each day just below.

Cost: $100 for the 2 days includes:

10-13 years-old

Girls! Adventure and jaw dropping vistas await! Let’s get out and explore Wellington's amazing backyard!! Over those two days we will travel along Wellington's famous Skyline track and then along Te Kopahou ridges to the rugged South Coast!

23-24 April

Day 1 - Train to Johnsonville and then up to ride along the Skyline Track to Makara Peak - (Drop off 8am at the Railway Station and Pick up at 3pm Makara Peak MTB Park)
Day 2 - Riding from Brooklyn turbine to Red Rocks! - (Drop off 8:30am bottom of Hawkin's hill road (across the road from 41 Ashton Fitchet drive) Pick up Shoreland Park, Island Bay)

Cost: $215 for the 2 day camp and includes:
– Experienced and super fun WORD mountain bike instructor (1:8 ratio)
– WORD t-shirt and WORD sticker
-Train ticket(s) to Jville
